2011 Revision
The following things I plan to do soon (in the months nov 2011 - feb 2012), to revitalize DLRPwiki.org.
The main goal would be to give DLRPwiki.org a new life. The following is mainly a list of todos for myself. Of course other todos are removing all the spam, preventing new spam and checking all existing articles (tip).
Skin
Change the skin!
The current skin is too cold and formal. I plan to add colors (possibly change the color theme depending on the type of article). I also plan to 'hide' some of the standard MediaWiki stuf since the primary navigation should be content related (not Mediawiki function related)

Extensions
In order to make DLRPwiki.org more interactive and media-rich I plan to install the following extensions:
- Wiki Editor Provides a better page editor, we need a more user friendly editor!!!
- Twitter and Facebook Like Social media integration
- Themes Change page theme (e.g. colors) depending on the article type? Pink for Phantasialand, more formal for financial articles for instance
- Breadcrumbs Show 'hierarchical' breadcrumbs when looking at a page, makes navigation through contents articles more easy
- WikiLove It might be a good idea to develop a set of badges/awards (e.g. novice, intermediate levels or daily-contributor etc. to motive people to contribute and keep contributing, also makes the 'level' of users clear to others)
- User Daily Contribs To show the daily progress a user makes (not sure about the real function of the extension though)
- Discussion Threading to make the discussion page easier to use
- Wiki Citation For easier citation and I think also a wiki-wide library of references.
- Online Status Bar To see whether users are online
- Edit Warning To prevent 2 users from simultaneously edit pages (not sure how it complements the MediaWiki version).
- Clientside Drafts auto save of drafts on the client side
Nice to Have
I'm still thinking about the following extensions but don't want to forget them:
- Favorites Allows users to mark pages as 'favorite' and shows lists of users and their favorites
- Theme designer Might be a handy extension to adjust skins/themes
- Page Attachments Might be handy to attach files directly to a page (instead of via the commons)
- Gadgets Might become too complex but gadgets might be a good idea...
- Browse Under development but easier browsing sounds goood
- Deployment for online updating of the MediaWiki software and extensions, makes life even easier
- (Not sure about this one, could be complicated and unnecessary: Semantic MediaWiki allows for more dynamic searching (e.g. give me all attractions from Disneyland Park where the queue length is moderate))
Global DLRPwiki.org
- Update banners and logo and stuff (volunteers???)
- Look at the license used on the wiki's
- ...
Extensions
Any suggestions are welcome!!!
- ImportFreeImages allows users to import properly licensed photos directly into their wiki from flickr;
- Patroller provides an interface to handle the patrolling of edits and share the workload (might be useful when a lot of new users start to edit);
- MediaWiki Bulletin Board adds a forum to MediaWiki (demo needed for complete function list);
- Or Discussion Threading to thread the discussion page;
- ...
Non-MediaWiki modifications
- Image hotlink log and control, especially the 'dynamic' watermarking feature is nice. When an image is used on DLRPwiki.org itself it would appear without the watermark but when hotlinked to an image the watermark appears... (but what to do with image downloaders???)
Commons
- Fix resizing of image with transparent backgrounds (now becomes black... not nice!)
