Help:Uploading pictures

New picture additions are more than welcome, but please follow these guidelines to prevent the deletion of your picture (and 'hard' work ;) ).

Before you upload

• Make sure you have a user account on this wiki (commons) and are logged in (do you see a 'log out' text on the top right of this page?) ;
• Browse this wiki to see if the photo you want to upload is a valuable addition to the gallery. We try to use as few pictures as possible but still giving a complete view of the different elements of Disneyland Resort Paris;
• Make sure the photo you want to upload is made by you or that you have permission to upload it here;
• Uploading pictures with URL names on it is allowed (for now) if you are the owner but if a similar photo without text is available it will be replaced;
• Pictures of you in front of ... or in ... are not allowed. Try to find a picture with as few people on it as possible;
• Cut your picture so it shows as little people as possible and as much of the object as possible;
• Downsize your picture to 1024x768 or 768x1024 pixels; if you don't know how to do it, upload your picture and ignore the size warning, it will be done by another user.

Uploading

Warning: By uploading a picture you agree that this picture can be used on DLRPwiki.org under the Creative Commons license.

1. Go to the upload page (tip: open in new window by holding Shift or in a new tab (Firefox) by holding Ctrl);
2. Select the picture on your computer using the browse button;
3. Fill in a name for your picture using these guidelines:
   1. First type the name of the object as it is used on this site;
   2. then add a '-' sign;
   3. add a useful description or the word 'Sign' if the picture is from a sign;
   • Example 1: Disneyland Hotel - Clock.jpg ; for this picture: Image:Disneyland Hotel - Clock.jpg
   • Example 2: Disneyland Park - Sign.jpg ; for this picture: Image:Disneyland Park - Sign.jpg
4. Fill in the summary field
   1. First use the following template to add the picture to the appropriate categories;

      {{CategorizePicture|Object=name|User=UserName}}

      where name is the name of the object (the same name you typed before the '-' sign in the name of the picture) and UserName is your username on this wiki. By using this template your picture is added to the category of your object and to your personal user gallery which includes all pictures uploaded by you.
   2. You can also fill in a description of the picture, for instance, when was it taken, what do you see, can you see something special? etc. etc.
5. If you want to be notified if someone else edits the description of the picture or deletes or replaces the picture you can tag the 'watch this page' field (only works if you provided an email address in your account);
6. Click the 'upload file' button;
7. You may see a 'upload warning' page indicating that your picture's file size is to large. If you don't know how to reduce the size of your image, or it already is 1024x768 or 768x1024 or smaller you can click the 'save file' button;
8. Your picture is now uploaded and you are brought to the image page. Thank you for uploading!
