DLRPwiki:Discussion: New layout

From DLRPwiki

To introduce 'magic' to DLRPwiki.org, changing the cold and official white layout seems a good start. But what should the new layout be? Discuss it here.

Suggestion: change colors per 'category', keep layout

My suggestion is to keep the layout (location of links etc.) but only change the background color. We could even change it per category, f.i. pink for Fantasyland, brown for Frontierland etc. etc. --GrandiJoos 12:03, 6 January 2008 (CET)

...and run into trouble with non-land-related topics. I'd generally say a "general" nice layout would do most of the magic. Being a mainly informational (less entertaining) resource collection there's nothing wrong with "boring" backgrounds. Let's think about nice logo and "border" for the content, and let the content unchanged. This will also prevent conflicting background and content colors (images, borders, tables, templates, CSS, ...).
I hope Flounder will involve himself in the design matters *hehehehe* -- Cubitus 16:20, 7 January 2008 (CET)
There is something to say for a more 'formal' layout... But we should differentiate from the default Wikipedia look by creating a splashing logo and changing the back-background a bit. I agree that the article background should remain white/light. --GrandiJoos 20:01, 7 January 2008 (CET) PS I'm curious for muck-ups, I think I'm gonna alter my css to see what it can be (see http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:User_style for style hints and tips, experiment away! :p)

Smart overall site design: logo, borders, navigation

...as written above! Three thumbs up! -- Cubitus 16:22, 7 January 2008 (CET)
